Crisis Era

In our forum, one of the topic was "Hirap ng buhay..nararamdaman nyo na ba?".

Definitely yes. As days gone by, it's getting harder and harder to budget our money for our needs and other expenses. Sometimes, we came to the point that we need to borrow money from others just to meet the budget. I earn above average every month but still, it seems not enough.

Someone once told me that "the higher your salary does not qualify you in living a better life. the higher your salary gets, the more you tend to have a more luxurious life."

If you earn 10k yesterday and earn 20k today and you are still broke then maybe it's not the amount in the paycheck that is your problem, but the factors that surrounds your spending of money.

According to kiyosaki, "it's the lack of financial education that keeps poor people poor and become poorer".

A need is a need, but a want is something else. if someone has been deprived of something, the more he longs for that something. and when he got the chance to get that something, he grabs it. the problem is when to stop wanting something and when to know if we have crossed the borderline.

the poor gets poorer because they have been deprived of the things the average/rich people has so when he had the chance, he tends to be drown into the realm of unwanted buying. he says i have the money now and i want it. over and over until he can't stop his self. when should they stop?

A need shouldn't be taken off priority and never should be. the hardest challenge in having money is the self-control over the wants. is it a "when question" or "should i" ?

People have different priorities but we all have the same denominators. we all have basic needs. the difference, how we prioritize these needs.

I am guilty of improper money handling. Sometimes, though i have allocated a part of my money, still i am able to pull it off. What i do is to separate these and keep it somewhere else. I am not a shopaholic person so I don't waste money in clothes and stuffs. But I am a gluttonous person with a big, stretchable tummy :P. I eat and eat and eat, though eating is a need sometimes i get extravagant on what i eat and where to dine. It doesn't matter if i don't have new clothes for as long as I have dined to anywhere i want.

And because it is crisis, i am more pressured in tight-budgeting especially now that my brother is in high school. I try to maintain balance in spending. Mind over matter, that's what all is saying.

I don't buy stuff that i don't need even if i find something useful. I don't go with the trend. I am not a techie person. I am a very spendthrift when it comes to material stuffs. I don't fall for people teasing or luring me to new things.

To survive nowadays is to stay away from temptations. And if you are surrounded with such, you'll need a lot of courage to fight it and a strong discipline in yourself.

T10: Personal Commandments

The morning rush top ten topic today inspired me to write.

The topic was about your personal commandments. It was sort of guidelines you believe and/or follow. So far, I only have 5.
Ready?

1. Though shalt NOT borrow money you can't pay just for gambling or buying unnecessary stuffs. Some people work hard you know.
2. Though shalt NOT butt-in matters of others that don't concern you. You would only cause confusion and misunderstandings.
3. Though shalt NOT waste other people's time making them wait during an important appointment. Even VIPs don't have the right to make other people wait.
4. Though shalt NOT ignore rules. They are made to keep things organized and proper.
5. Though shalt ALWAYS listen when someone is to the one talking to you especially when it is something important or when someone is trying to do some explanation and directions.

I'll post my other 5 as soon as I have think of something.

Office Moments: Another Chilling Noon

I am frozen to death right now. The air-con temperature is too low. I can barely move my fingers.

I understand that the office should have a cold atmosphere so that the computers won't go overheat after running for 24 hours.

But I can't withstand the cold. Aaagghhhhh I'm gonna be sick. I have slight cold when I woke up early today.

It's sleepy right now and i feel like taking a nap.

Ian is now sleeping, while boys at the back chat. The posters are gone to eat lunch.

*sigh* What a nice atmosphere. Calming. Quiet. Sleepy.

But I want to design some web templates. I need to do some personal drafts for saturday's due.

Hmm...

Argh! It's hard to choose.

What to do? what to do?...

Decided!

I'll just eat and surf. hehe

It's Time to Let Go

Yesterday, Meo and I went to Starmall to send money to his family through Western Union. Afterwards, we decided to go food tripping but due to innumerable scrumptious food, we ended up at Tropical Hut. We even saw some of my officemates namely Papa Jim, Angie, Donald and Japs.

It was my first time to dine in Tropical Hut and I loved their macaroni salad. We ate palabok and salad, and dine-out a spaghetti for my little brother.

We took a cab to our house. The taxi was tuned in to 101.10, playing RnB and making the ride mellow. It was the first time I felt very relax for a very long time again.

"It's time to let go... It's time to let go... It's time to let go..."

It kept echoing in my head like a mantra. For unknown reasons, it just goes on and on and on.

As I entered my room, I realized how messy the room was. Like a hypnotized person, I started to pick up pieces of paper. Then fixed up scattered books while picking dirty socks along. My computer is not working right now so I put it aside to lessen the clutter in the room. I brought in a Orocan storage cabinet to store my stuffs. I am an "Abubot Girl" that is why I some place to store my "abubots".

"It's time to let go... It's time to let go... It's time to let go..."

Darn, it's freaky! After an hour, my room was dazzling clean. Woohoo! What an achievement. I manage to dispose a large plastic of garbage after cleaning.

"It's time to let go... It's time to let go... It's time to let go..."

I prepared and cooked dinner, "sinigang na galunggong". Later in the night, I read PHP book about Object-Oriented Programming.

When I hit the bed, it was freakingly weird. Those words are still lingering in my head. "It's time to let go..." until i fell asleep.

Up until now, I am still wondering why.

Mirrors (Film 2008)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Horror
The movie was really scary!!!

I have watched it last week and i really freaked out. A little background, sometime during my childhood, i saw "something" in the mirror that made me afraid of it.

I can't look at the mirror sometimes recently. Kinda paranoid because i have a very wild imagination.

Kiefer Sutherland of the TV series 24 starred as Ben Carson in the movie. He was a former police who resigned a year before the current setting after accidentally killing someone. (that's what i've understand)

The movie is like the Exorcist wherein a little girl was possessed by not one or two but lots of weary souls. Her name is Anne Esseker. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia in a mental hospital far away from her home.

As part of the "treatment", she was held in a room with mirrors to help her distinguish which is reality from not. After a few days in the ward, a massive death happened in the hospital including doctors, patients, nurse and staffs forcing the closure of the said establishment.

Documents found said that she died at the age of 12 but later he found out that she was released 2 days before the massive death happened. He decided to go to Anne's hometown in Transylvania. There he discovered the real deal with Anne's condition.

Watch the movie to see the creepy action near the ending

New Client Project

Just received new project from my client right after lunch break. It will be made using Typolight(arg, techie!)

So happy!

Though I have already used that CMS on my first project from him, I still need to do some review and re-study the software. It's almost half a year since the last typolight project that I have handled.

Time to go to the warp zone!

I am wasting hours of precious time in a script that doesn't display any output. Debugging became so frustrating because it doesn't show even a single line of error message or warning.

It's sucking all the patience in me.

I'm so irritated. Darn.

My shift is about to end and still im stucked in this s*** waaaaaaaa

Need some air.

UPDATE:

I decided to give it a rest or else im  going nuts. I'll try again tomorrow though. Never give-up. Darn PDF!

The Way You Are

Latest Poem:
"The Way You Are"

Eye Check-up

Today, our company conducted a free eye check-up for us employees. In the end of the check-up, you could avail a pair of eyeglasses which would paid in installment and will just be deducted to your salary. I heard that a few got their eyeglasses.

I was diagnosed with astigmatism which I am already aware of because I went to an optometrist before. I was adviced to use corrective eyeglasses but i refused. I have this perception that once you have used an eyeglass, there is no turning back and you would wear them for the rest of your life.

Since college, i have been in front of the computer for about 20 hours a day. Me and my friends would be in the computer shop just to play Ragnarok, MU and counterstrike. Added to these were the computer asssignments like programs and researches that have to be done. And now that I am working, the only time that my eyes could take a rest is when I travel, take a bath and sleep. Talking about too much hardwork, if only my eyes could scold me, I would have been nagged by it in every minute that i'll be in front of the computer.

After series of health melt down, I slowly started to take care of my eyes and myself. I see to eat that I am an arm-length away from the monitor and my eye-level is higher than it. I eat fruits frequently lately. The only thing that I couldn't follow is to drink a lot of water. I always forgot to.

I'll be going to a family friend optometrist to have a check-up. Maybe I'll try on November when hopefully I'll have an extra money.

As much as possible, I don't want to wear any eyeglasses

PS the optometrists were tall and good-looking hehe

Morning Rush Topic: sentence dugtungan game (3 words only)

I was reading the old posts in the morning rush forum until i stumbled this thread. The thread is a "dugtungan game" and you could see the the creativity and wild imaginations of the forum members. so far the thread has accumulated 2192 replies.

The rules of the game are:
Each poster will contribute 3 words at a time para makabuo tayo ng isang sentence hanggang page 20.

So bawal ang quotation marks except for comma. Hintayin natin ang ibang poster magpost bago magcontribute ulit sa sentence.

I'll be happy to compile the sentence pag umabot na tayo ng page 20.

Example:
1. Nagugutom ako ngayon
2. pero wala akong
3. pera pambili ng

And because i found it entertaining, i decided to compile the first 100 replies to the thread. Here it goes:

Philhosting Service

Just today, i was planning to move my hosting to techive and so i sent a ticket to Philhosting's technical support to set it up to techive's nameserver.

It's been 3 months since i bought a domain and hosting package from philhosting. Last August, I cancelled my hosting plan and transferred one of my domains to NameCheap. The refund for the hosting took a month before I was able to get back my money.

And today it took me 8 hours to get the techsupport to set up the nameserver of my domain. The topic of termination was brought up because changing server is equivalent to termination(?).

Lost in translation!

I just calmed down from being frustrated earlier. Good thing they had the domain setup updated.

In line with this, try to search for philhosting posts to see what other clients have said about their service. Hopefully, they get their service to work fine.

Here is the ticket i made: https://philhosting.net/viewticket.php?tid=758044&c=f6zsCWB0
